Karangalan is a Tagalog word that means, “pride, dignity, and honor”. The Karangalan Scholarship, sponsored by the friends and family of the Filipino educators of the Sweetwater Union High School District, will be awarded to outstanding Filipino American senior students in the Sweetwater Union High School District who have demonstrated excellence in academics and community involvement.
Last year we raised over $2400 to recognize the outstanding academic achievements and commendable community service of many young Filipino American leaders in our community. This year, we hope to acknowledge more of our exceptional students with your help. Our goal is to raise over $5,000.
We hope you will join us in our efforts in financially supporting the post-secondary goals of our students.
The Karangalan Scholarship recognition ceremony is a part of the annual Magkaisa High School Conference sponsored by the Sweetwater Union High School District.
